Teenage tomboy Mattie Ross enlists the aid of crusty US Marshal Rooster Cogburn to track own the man who murdered her father.

I watched both versions back-to-back. If you like westerns, then this is a good one to watch. I personally think the 2010 version is better, not only because it had a bigger budget and benefited from more modern effects, but their is also more character development. If you are a John Wayne fan, then his version is a must see. If not, it’s a good movie but ultimately, the character of Cogburn has few redeeming qualities.
