The Patriot (2000)

Director: Roland Emmerich
Writer: Robert Rodat
Stars: Mel Gibson, Heath Ledger, Joely Richardson, Jason Isaacs, Chris Cooper, Rene Auberjonois

Peaceful farmer Benjamin Martin is driven to lead the Colonial Militia during the American Revolution when a sadistic British officer murders his son.

A film that proves, Roland Emmerich can make a good movie, historical inaccuracies aside. And while I do like the movie, and I do thing men should know about and experience just what we fought for, this is ultimately a Hollywood blockbuster. Go fun, great action (he even found a way to blow something up), but ultimately it fall just short of great.
