Lone Survivor (2013)

Director: Peter Berg
Writers: Peter Berg (written by), Patrick Robinson & Marcus Luttrell (book),
Stars: Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch

A special ops team accidentally gets discovered by goat herders while on mission in Taliban controlled Afghanistan. The decision to release the goat herders leads to disastrous results.

The movie and the book it was adapted from is based on actual events. The film brings up into the setting with gorgeous establishing shots, and still keep sup the tension of a truly heroic effort to survive and complete mission. For many men a 5k run is too much, forget strenuous hikes in the mountains. A very few would even consider going into the nightmare this movie depicts. Even fewer would make it out.
