Field of Dreams (1989)

Director: Phil Alden Robinson
Writers: W.P. Kinsella (book), Phil Alden Robinson (screenplay)
Stars: Kevin Costner, James Earl Jones, Ray Liotta

Man in Iowa hears voices in this corn field, plows under some of his crop to build a baseball diamond, and the 1919 Chicago White Sox (and others) show up to play.

“If you build it, he will come.”

At it’s core this is a father/son redemption story. And it’s a ghost story. and a road trip. And there’s a dumbass brother-in-law. Screw it, just watch the movie.
