Bullitt (1968)

Director: Peter Yates
Writers: Alan Trustman & Harry Kleiner (screenplay), Robert L. Fish (as Robert L. Pike) (novel)
Stars: Steve McQueen, Jacqueline Bisset, Robert Vaughn

Police lieutenant is assigned to watch over the brother of a mob boss to testify against him when a pair of hitmen enter the scene. This leads to a numerous complications and double crosses, and one of the best damn car chases put to film.

I particularly enjoyed the jazz soundtrack, which really stood out to me over the much more common themes use din this type of movie. If you are into jazz, cars, and old movies, this is the one for you.
