(500) Days of Summer (2009)

Director: Marc Webb
Writers: Scott Neustadter, Michael H. Weber
Stars: Zooey Deschanel, Joseph Gordon-Levitt

An offbeat romantic comedy about a woman who doesn’t believe true love exists, and the young man who falls for her.

Oh my god, this movie is such crap, I couldn’t even finish it. Guy is bad for pursuing girl… except he doesn’t… girl who doesn’t want a relationship… except she makes EVERY FIRST MOVE.

This is a rather boring, and fairly crappy love story, made even more intolerable (but smart and different and refreshing – whatever) by being told out of chronological order. Because, if it had been told in order, you’d quickly see how dumb the entire thing is.

It’s one redeeming quality is that it is a clear picture of what to avoid and the BS women today do. When you pursue a guy, initiate the sex, and do everything as a couple – YOU ARE A COUPLE. Saying I don’t want a boyfriend doesn’t change the fact you have one, and very clearly want one. Guys, you see this woman, walk the other way.

Okay, the other saving grace it Chloe Grace Moretz (the little sister). By far the most interesting character in the movie, and totally worth every bit of little screen time she got.
